Nick Ireland

Smart eHealth Training Presenter, Physiotherapist

Nick Ireland graduated from University of SA in 1996 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy. Since that time, he has pursued further study in myofascial release, trigger point therapy, muscle energy techniques, exercise therapy and dry needling.

Over the past two decades, Nick has worked in private practice, and with a variety of businesses to optimise health outcomes for individuals and companies. In recent years, he has focussed on Occupational and Work Health, partnering with businesses in sectors as diverse and mining, manufacturing, food and wine production, insurance and banking. As part of that work, Nick has been recognised in Workcover awards ceremonies, and as part of the Smart Health team awarded Provider of the Year in 2013.

Nick has assisted many of the business that engage Smart Health in developing Early Intervention Injury Management programs, work health training programs, and health promotion. His work is partly dedicated to developing training programs that engage participants and result in true behavioural change, which has naturally translated into his role developing e-Learning programs in the Smart eHealth team. In recent years he has developed in-house e-Learning programs for multi-national banking and has overseen health promotion programs for multi-national mining. He has presented regularly to general meetings of the Self Insurers of South Australia, most recently leading the charge towards reducing sedentary behaviour and the ergonomics of standing workstations.
